Memory Verses: Phil. 3:7-8

Day 1: Read Leviticus 23:15-22 & Acts 1:1-5 & discuss: What does Pentecost represent? What was the significance of the Feast of Firstfruits? Why are these two feasts connected? What do the two loaves (see the passage in Lev. 23) represent, in relation to Acts 2:41, 4:4, and Acts 10?

Day 2: Read Leviticus 23:15-22 & 1 Cor. 5:7 and discuss: Why were the loaves used in the Feast of Firstfruits “leavened”?  What was the purpose of physical circumcision in the Old Testament?

Day 3: Read Leviticus 23:15-22 & Acts 7:51-58 & and discuss: Were all the Jews - in Acts - “cut to the heart” when they heard people speaking and teaching about the Messiah? Why not? What is the significance of these different outcomes? How would you apply this to your own heart?

Day 4: Knowing that the Elders’ Retreat is coming up (1/28-1/30), if you were to share anything with them what would it be? It could be a question or some feedback about something; it could be a nomination for someone you think we should prayerfully consider examining for an elder or a deacon. If you were to share something, what would it be? Please email one of the elders, OR use the feedback cards to share your thoughts with us. Anonymous feedback is fine.
