Family Worship Guide
Memory Verses: Rom. 12:17-19
Day 1: Read Luke 9:57-62 and discuss: What was different about the man that Jesus called out to vs. the men who approached Jesus on their own? What kept this man from following Jesus right away? Jesus replies to the man: what does he mean by his words? What does it reveal about those He does call vs. those He does not call?
Day 2: Read Luke 9:57-62 and discuss: What kind of “good things” have you forsaken to follow Christ? In what way have you forsaken family? In what way have you forsaken children - or, perhaps, your aspirations or wishes for your children/their future? Examine yourself. What parts of your life need to be reprioritized?
Day 3: Read Luke 9:57-62 and discuss: What do you need to be delivered from? In what specific ways do you need to stop “making provision for your flesh? (Rom. 13:14)? What have you been delivered from? In what ways are you tempted to return to it? What “decisive breaks” (1 Kings 19:19-21) do you need to make?
