Gracious Commands & Directions from Jesus

MAIN IDEA: Jesus graciously commands direction for your life (“but seek first the kingdom of God”), therefore you do not have to worry sinfully any more (“do not be anxious”).

Jesus directs me to pursue God’s kingdom by:

  • ...____________ storing up treasures in heaven, not on earth; this protects my heart from __________________ what will not last. (vv.19-21)

  • ...recognizing I can only _________ God or money; this protects me from _____________________ what will not last. (vv. 22-23; Ps. 119:36-37; Prov. 4:23, 25)

  • ...resisting sinful anxiety through remembering God’s __________________ and his providential care for me; this protects me from living like __________________ who do not know God as their Heavenly Father. (vv.25-26; vv.27-32)

...relentlessly _______________ God’s righteousness - what is __________ in His eyes, according to His word - in all places, and at all times; this protects me from _____________ my life on my own kingdom. (vv. 33-34)
