Memory Verses: 2 Chron. 16:9

Day 1: Read Leviticus 23:1-14 & discuss: Why is it important for us to understand the Jewish festivals? What significance do they have for us as Christians? Why is the timing of the feasts significant? How is Christ our Passover Lamb?

Day 2: Read Leviticus 23:1-14 & 1 Cor. 5:7 and discuss: What is the significance of the Feast of Unleavened Bread? Why is leaven a fitting picture of sin? Why is the presence of leaven in the Church such a serious issue?

Day 3: Read Leviticus 23:1-14, 21, 31, 41 & 1 Cor. 15:20 and discuss: What does “firstfruits” mean? What was the purpose of the festival? How did Christ fulfill this type? If it’s crucial for us to remove sin from our lives, how do you do this? Cite some examples from Scripture for “removing sin.”

Day 4: The Elders’ Retreat is coming up (1/28-1/30). Is there anything you’d like them to discuss? It could be a question or feedback about something in the church. Do you have someone you’d like the elders to consider as a potential elder or deacon? Please email one of the elders or use the feedback cards to share your thoughts with us. Anonymous feedback is fine.
