Family Worship Guide
Memory Verses: Prov. 6:22-23
Day 1: Read Luke 8:40-56 and discuss: What was Jairus’s situation? Look for details that explain why he did what he did, while considering how odd his actions must have appeared. Now, consider yourself. Are you desperate for Jesus? If so, what would you point to as evidence? If not, why not?
Day 2: Read Luke 8:40-56 and discuss: What might have Jairus thought about the woman who “interrupted” Jesus? What impact would the woman’s healing have had on Jairus? Consider the way God has worked in the lives of people you know. How has God’s work in others impacted your life? Be specific.
Day 3: Read Luke 8:40-56 and discuss: What does it reveal about the person who complains that “God isn’t fair”? What does it reveal about how they view themselves in comparison to God? Consider 2-3 biblical responses to such a person. Apply these to yourself, too - especially the next time you are tempted with this thought.
