Family Worship Guide

Memory Verses: Acts 20:35

Day 1: Read Luke 10:38-42 and Phil 4:6-7 and discuss: Write down five issues that cause you anxiety. When you look at this list, do these issues have eternal consequences, or are they trivial issues with little consequence? How can you have a spiritual, eternal perspective that remedies your worry over the trivial aspects of this life? Are you overly worried about others and what they’re doing? If so, how can you focus less on others?

Day 2: Read Luke 10:38-42 and Genesis 5:2 and discuss: What ways do you see the world blurring the lines between the genders? What temptations can you think of that are more common to men? More common to women? What temptations do you need to be on guard against? Can you think of people in Scripture who serve as examples of more common temptations men and women?

Day 3: Read John 12:1-7 and discuss: What are the similarities between Luke 10:38-42 and John 12:1-7? What are the differences? Why was Martha rebuked in Luke 10 but not in John 12? Look at the priorities in your life. Do you need to make any changes? Are you prioritizing sitting at Jesus’ feet like you should? If you’re a husband, are you regularly bringing your family to Jesus’ feet through family Bible study and prayer?
