Family Worship Guide
Memory Verses: Rom. 14:7-9
Day 1: Read Luke 9:23-27 & discuss: Having carefully examined your life (see FWG 11/19), what specific things are you choosing to spend it on? From which of these activities is there spiritual fruit? Which spiritual fruit (see Gal. 5)? What is your soul? How would you define or describe that to a child?
Day 2: Read Luke 9:23-27 & discuss: Which activities are profitable? Which ones are not profitable? Should you look for an opportunity to cease the unprofitable? Why or why not? What are some of the differences between heaven and hell? What do you think is the motivation of those who deny hell and/or who downplay the glories of heaven?
Day 3: Read Luke 9:23-27 & discuss: Besides the examples listed in the sermon, who are some people who seem to have “gained the whole world.” What have they said or written - or what was written about them - that reveals they’ve spent their lives in the wrong ways? Besides Jim Elliot, who are some examples of those who have “lost” their lives to God (whether martyred or not)?
