Family Worship Guide
Memory Verses: Rom. 12:11-13
Day 1: Read Luke 9:51-56 and discuss: What was Jesus’ mission? Why did the Father send him? Why did these Samaritans not receive Jesus? Did all Samaritans in the Gospels reject Jesus? As the Church, in America, who are like “Samaritans” - who are we likely to lump all together because ‘some’ reject Jesus?
Day 2: Read Luke 9:51-56 and discuss: If we lump people together because they Jesus, and refuse to persist in evangelism, missions, and church planting, whose mission are we choosing to neglect? What would your country, city, or family be like if those who had the Gospel refused to persist in missions? Examine yourself: prayerfully consider if you obedient to the Great Commission.
Day 3: Read Luke 9:51-56 and discuss: If someone rejects Jesus, how are you (based on your flesh) likely to respond? How should you respond? What made the difference for John between Luke 9 & Acts 8? So, then, if you are not currently obeying the Great Commission in an “Acts 8/Apostle John” mindset, why? Have you forgotten something? Are there potential disciples at home that consume most of your time? Could you take your children to the park once a week and pray for an opportunity to meet another mom? Men, what opportunities could you pray for?
