Maintaining a Holy Environment During Outreach - Part I

Lesson 1: Let’s use the strong foundation God’s given us to grow in outreach. NOTE: Taken from first sermon on outreach.

Lesson 2: Associate holiness with ________________________ versus ________________.

Lesson 3: The ceremonial commands were for:

  • (Part I) _____________.
  • (Part II) ________________ (Num 23:6-9; Est 3:8; Acts 16:21; 1 Pet 1:15-16; Heb 12:14).

Lesson 4: Holiness in the church means ________________ ______________________ (1 Cor 9:21; Gal 6:2; Matt 15:11; Mark 7:18; Rom 14:17; 1 Cor 8:8; Col 2:16, 20-23; Rom 12:2; 1 John 2:15-16; Jam 4:4).

Four practical suggestions to help WCC grow in outreach:

  1. Pray for WCC to grow in this area.
  2. Pray for wisdom for the elders to be sensitive to God’s leading.
  3. Pray about who God would have you invite to church.
  4. Find ways for your home fellowship to focus on outreach.

Family Worship Guide

Memory Verses: 1 Corinthians 10:31

Day 1: Discuss: What is “holiness”? “Holiness” is not necessarily what? Within the law given by God through Moses, what are some terms used to categorize those commands? What were the purposes of “ceremonial” commands? Where in the Old Testament and in the New Testament would you go if you wanted to show someone this from Scripture?

Day 2: Read 1 Peter 1:15; Hebrews 12:14 and discuss: What do these verses mean in regards to holiness? What do they not mean? What book in the New Testament discusses our freedom from the Mosaic Law? What passages in the New Testament could you use to show someone about the use/non-use of food in regards to the law?

Day 3: Read Rom. 12:2, 1 John 2:15, James 4:4 and discuss: What is the main emphasis of these verses in regards to understanding the meaning of holiness as a Church? Who did Paul write to, exhorting him to be an example? Why is this significant for understanding holiness?
